Italy Group 056 · Lazio Circoscrizione · Active since 1981

Roma Boccea
the north-west group.

We have been active since 1981 in the north-west neighbourhoods of Rome. We are 18 activists among students, workers and pensioners. Our strong point is human rights education in schools and sports associations. We are open to anyone who wants to get to know us: come to a meeting, no commitment required.

How we meet

One meeting a month in a convivial format: each time we choose where to meet, to strengthen the human bond among activists too.

Once a month

We usually meet on the first Wednesday or Thursday of the month. It is the main meeting: planning of initiatives, updates, decisions.

Mobile venue, "convivial format"

We have no fixed venue: we choose the place each time. It is a deliberate choice to strengthen acquaintance and friendship as well as to work together.

Open to anyone who wants to get to know us

Our meetings are open. If you want to understand how we work, write to us first and we will tell you where and at what time we are meeting next.

What we talk about in our meetings

Planning, innovative ideas, the human and relational side: the group works by bringing together content and relationships.

Planning of initiatives

We decide together what to organise: meetings with schools, exhibitions, public events, stalls to collect signatures in support of prisoners of conscience.

Innovative ideas

We look for new ways to talk about human rights: from the illustrated book La vita è in gioco staged with two theatre companies, to the Rightsonair podcast of the DESC Coordination.

The human and relational side

Without neglecting acquaintance and friendship: the "convivial format" of our meetings is our hallmark. The best ideas are born in an environment where people really know each other.

What we have done recently

A selection of the most significant actions of Group 056 in recent months.

EDU & Sport

Pilot project EDU Football School — Montespaccato Calcio

We have started a collaboration with Montespaccato Calcio to bring human rights education directly into the football school. An experiment that opens EDU beyond the traditional boundaries of schools, into the area's sports associations.

Exhibitions

"What Were You Wearing?" — from Municipio XIV to Civitella d'Agliano

The exhibition against gender-based violence "What Were You Wearing" was set up in Rome with the patronage of Municipio XIV and then taken outside the capital, in collaboration with ANPI Civitella d'Agliano (VT). An example of how a local initiative can become travelling.

Events

"Voice to Human Rights" — Spin Time, December 2024

A concert-event at Spin Time with the Coro Mercato Trieste and the Lost on Friday choir: music as a language for rights, on the occasion of the anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Today

Let's build the next step together

The charity five-a-side football tournament of 28 May 2026 and the Rightsonair podcast are the next fronts of work. If you are interested in human rights education, public events or cultural activism, there is room for your contribution.

What we are preparing

The two fronts the group is working on over these weeks.

28 May 2026 · EDU & Sport

A Kick Against Indifference — charity tournament

A five-a-side football tournament among neighbourhood teams, magistrates, lawyers and the national journalists' team, to raise local awareness of human rights. Centro sportivo Don Pino Puglisi, via Stefano Vaj 41.

Work in progress

Podcast "Rightsonair" — DESC Coordination

The group is currently working on the Amnesty International podcast dedicated to economic, social and cultural rights, in collaboration with the DESC Coordination.

Come to the next meeting.

Leave your details: we will write to you to tell you where and when we meet. The first visit is with no commitment.
